Kevin Duggan

Hello friends and neighbors! My name is Kevin Duggan and I am excited to run for a seat on the Board of Directors. My first introduction to Arrowhead was over 16 years ago for an extended family weekend getaway. We loved it so much we returned several more times before purchasing our home in 2012 and we are so thankful for the many friends we have made and all the amazing experiences our family continues to enjoy here.

Over the years I have become increasingly involved in the Arrowhead community, attending Board meetings and serving on various committees. Currently, I am the secretary of the Budget and Financial Planning Committee and I also serve on the Member Services Committee and the newly created IT working group. Through these experiences, I have gained a greater understanding of how Arrowhead operates and a deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the Board members and volunteers who work tirelessly to make Arrowhead a great place to live and visit.

However, I believe that there is always room for improvement and I am running for the Board of Directors because I believe we need a greater focus on fiscal responsibility, improving infrastructure, enhancing amenities and creating a stronger sense of community among all Arrowhead members. I am committed to working collaboratively with the Board and community members to achieve these goals.

Transparency is one of my top priorities. I believe that the Board should be open and honest about its actions and decisions, and members should have a clear understanding of how their dues are being used. As a Board member, I am committed to keeping members informed about important issues and ensuring that their voices are heard. Board transparency and accountability and increased member engagement has never been more necessary. I will work to reinstate the publication of meaningful member comments in Board meeting minutes so that those not present can fully understand all concerns and issues that were raised.

I am also committed to being fiscally responsible and making decisions that are in the best interest of Arrowhead as a community. I believe that we need to carefully evaluate all proposals and projects to ensure they are financially viable and will have a positive impact on the community. Fees should be directly related to the cost of the services provided and should not be excessive or arbitrary. I will work to ensure that detailed income and expense reports are available for all members to review.

I fully support the work being done by the Declaration Restatement Committee as they seek to build a consensus for a new, singular, modern Declaration. This is necessary in order to guide our future growth and to maintain Arrowhead Lake as a private, family-oriented residential and recreational community with high value amenities. Our lakes and pools form the heart of our amenities and must be preserved.

I understand the perspectives of homeowners who choose to rent their homes as well as those who choose not to rent and I'm dedicated to representing both. Additional community-wide surveys are planned and these will help define the language for the new Declaration, specifically regarding rentals which are a major contributor to our reserves, keeping our dues low and introducing potential new homeowners to our community.

With a career as an IT manager in the financial industry, I believe my life and work experience has prepared me well to be able to make a positive contribution as a Board member. I will work to ensure that our systems are modernized, our resources are used wisely and our decisions are based on sound financial principles.

Ultimately, my goal is to make Arrowhead an even better place to live and enjoy. If elected to the Board of Directors, I will work tirelessly to represent the interests of all Arrowhead residents and ensure that our community continues to thrive. Thank you for considering my candidacy, I respectfully ask for your vote.
